I’m really bummed I wasn’t able to post an article last week.
Sadly, the same is true for this week.
I’m swamped with scoping jobs and I feel like this kitten.
But I’m excited to say that I’m working on a new article for you, and I’ll be posting it next week.
In the meantime, I would love to know:
What led you into scoping, and what’s been your biggest scoping challenge?
Talk to you soon,
Natalie

Hi Natalie!
I just found this blog through Facebook. I’m on the cusp of purchasing Eclipse so I’m technically not a scopist YET but I AM a former CR who left reporting because I got burned out and needed a more reliable income to support myself and my husband. I have always enjoyed transcription more than the reporting jobs so I’m looking to build on transcription and move into scoping. I do anticipate that my biggest challenge in scoping will be simply finding new quality clients. I see a lot of posts on FB and forums dissing scopists and emphasizing that having a scopist who was a CR means nothing. I know that when I was reporting I sometimes had more issues with reporters “helping” for sure. I’m worried about getting myself out there, outside of the circle of people I know, without having to suffer crappy jobs and deadbeat clients as a new scopist.
Hi, Jennifer! Thanks so much for sharing. I completely understand your concern. I wish there was an easy answer, but it’s really just a process of attracting great clients and weeding out the terrible ones. Good luck to you!
Darci, I’m so glad you’ve found my articles helpful. Thanks for reading!
